CarChip #8246 with programmable alarm

CarChip Fleet includes all the data logging capabilities of CarChip Pro (8226), but is designed to be used with our Fleet Management Software (sold separately).

You'll get up to 1200 hours of trip details, including distance, speed, time, hard accelerations and decelerations, engine diagnostic trouble codes, and an accident log. You'll also be able to monitor any four out of 23 user-selectable engine parameters.

With CarChip Fleet and our Fleet Management Software, you'll also get additional reporting capabilities that let you:
 • Sort data and create reports according to selected criteria.
 • Track and compare drivers and vehicles by fleet, group, or location.
 • Summarize data by selected date range—day, week, month, or longer.
 • Emissions readiness reports to check the status of the vehicles smog-control systems.
 • Can add optional DR Wireless down load kit.

Audible alarm allows fleet manager to set specific speed, acceleration and deceleration limits to alert driver when they exceed those specified limits.

If the vehicle's check engine light (also known as a malfunction indicator light or MIL) comes on, you'll be able to:
 • Read the diagnostic trouble code (or DTC).
 • Get the "freeze-frame" sensor readings telling you the status of various engine parameters at the time.
 • Reset the light.

Includes CarChip data logger only. Requires Fleet Management Software, which is sold separately. Buy as many data loggers as you like; you'll need just one Fleet Management Software package.

System requirements:
 • Windows 98SE/2000/ME/XP/Vista, at least 32 MB free hard disk space, and one free USB port.

CarChip #8226 Pro with Alarm

CarChip Pro with Alarm ncludes all the features of CarChip, plus four times the data storage—up to 300 hours of driving data. (The actual number of hours will vary, depending on how frequently you log data.) It also provides user-settable alarms for speed, hard braking, and quick acceleration.

As with CarChip, you'll get time and date for each trip, distance, speed, hard accelerations and decelerations, and engine diagnostic trouble codes.

With CarChip Pro, though, you'll also be able to monitor any four out of 23 user-selectable engine parameters, including:
• RPM
• Throttle position
• Engine load
• Fuel pressure
• Fuel system status
• Short- and long-term-fuel trim
• Battery voltage
• Timing advance
• Coolant temperature
• Air flow rate
• Intake air temperature
• Intake manifold pressure
• Oxygen sensor voltage

You can view all of this graphically on your computer screen, giving you a moment-by-moment picture of how you—or perhaps your employees or the teenagers in your household—are driving.

Plus, if you're unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident, CarChipE/Xwill automatically generate an accident log showing the last critical 20 seconds of speed.

Includes data logger, software on CD, and USB cable for downloading data.

Software lets you:
 • Review and clear diagnostic trouble codes.
• View summary and detail reports for each trip, including vehicle speed every 5 seconds.
• Set thresholds for speed, acceleration, and braking, and view the number of times these thresholds
were exceeded.
• Copy data to spreadsheets and text documents for further analysis.

System requirements:
 • Windows 98SE/2000/ME/XP/Vista and one USB port.

Vehicle Conflicts and Exclusions

There are a few vehicles in which CarChip does not function properly, and there are others in which CarChip may interfere with the normal operation of the vehicle. Please review the list of known CarChip Vehicle Conflicts and Exclusions before purchasing or using CarChip.

Important Safety Notice

CarChip has been carefully designed and tested to comply with the OBDII protocols used on most cars and light trucks sold in the USA, model-year 1996 or later. However, some vehicle models are not in full compliance with these protocols. In addition, the computer control systems on any given vehicle may be malfunctioning or out of spec, as may be the sensors used by these systems.

Before installing CarChip, be sure to review the list of known vehicle exclusions and anomalies (see the link above). For more information on OBDII issues and anomalies in general, we recommend The Equipment and Tool Institute's website at www.etools.org.

While our testing and the experience of thousands of CarChip users have shown the unit to be safe and reliable, there is an inherent risk in adding any aftermarket product that may potentially affect the operation or drivability of your vehicle. Should you be concerned about the operation of your vehicle at any time while using CarChip, you should pull over, off the roadway, immediately or as soon as it is safe to do so. Remove CarChip from the OBDII port and consult a licensed mechanic or automobile service center.
